Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is the closest major airport, about 20 minutes by taxi or car from Davis. (Note: If you stay in Downtown Davis, we recommend you don't rent a car as hotels there are within 10-20 minutes walking distance from the meeting site. ) Davis Airporter is a popular pre-booked shared shuttle. Many of us also use Dan's Cab, which you should also pre-book.  On-call airport taxis and ride share services such as Lyft are also easily available.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the next closest major airport, about 80 minutes by car (if no traffic...beware of rush hour!). You may also pre-book the Davis Airporter shared shuttle service to/from (SFO) I would recommend this instead of driving, as it is likely you will not use your car if you stay at a hotel in Downtown Davis.

By Car

UC Davis and the city of Davis are right on Interstate-80, which links San Francisco with Sacramento (the capital of California). Downtown Davis hotels can best be reached by using the Richards Blvd exit. UC Davis itself has it's own exit just west of the Richards Blvd exit. Make sure you go towards the Cental (North) Campus rather than South Campus.

Parking

Parking in the Downtown area is very limited and usually not allowed for more than 2 hours. Hotels have their own parking - so please check with them about availability.

Parking on Campus is quite easy. From the UC Davis exit off Interstate-80 follow signs to Central Campus and the Mondavi Center. There is always ample parking there (make sure you get the $9 daily pass and display it on your car!). It is about a 10 minute walk to the Science and Engineering campus areas.

By Train

it is possible to take the BART from SFO to Richmond and then connect to the Amtrak train service to Davis - but this is really only a convenient option during peak travel times during the weekdays. Make sure you check Amtrak/BART schedules beforehand in order to make sure the connection is feasible! The Amtrak will drop you off right in Downtown Davis.
